Museum shop

The Fashion and Textile Museum shop offers a curated selection of products from up-and-coming and established designers and authors. Every purchase helps to support us and the independent makers we’re proud to stock. You can visit the Fashion and Textile Museum shop at any time during our opening hours – there’s no need to book a ticket – or you can always shop with us online.

Food and drink

No food or drink is permitted in the Museum, other than bottled water. The Fashion and Textile Museum is located in the heart of fashionable Bermondsey Street, surrounded by award-winning restaurants, cafes and pubs. So if you would like to enjoy a meal or a drink before or after your session, check out what’s on offer.

Toilets

Toilets are available on the ground floor, including wheelchair-accessible and baby change facilities.

Photography

Unless otherwise stated, photography (without flash) is welcome for personal use only. If you wish to use a tripod or filming equipment, please get in touch prior to your visit.

We love to see your photos, so please do share them with us on InstagramTwitter or Facebook. Don’t forget to use #fashiontextile.

Group and school visits

Group and school visits are very welcome but must be booked in advance. For further information about bringing your group to the Fashion and Textile Museum, see the group visits page.

Enjoy. But don’t touch

Please do not touch the items in the galleries. For most of our exhibitions, there is no glass separating you from the artefacts on display so you can get up close. However, dirt, moisture, and other contaminants present on hands can cause damage to textiles that may not be immediately apparent. Help us to keep our artefacts in excellent condition so that others can enjoy the display as well.

Drawing and sketching

No pens or markers are allowed in the galleries. Pencils and pencil crayons may be used.

Cloakroom

The cloakroom is open so feel free to leave coats and bags while you visit. Please be aware that the cloakroom is unmanned and the Museum cannot take responsibility for the loss or damage of any items stored there.
