Join The Biba Story 1964-1975 curator, Martin Pel in conversation with fashion legend, and Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki.

The pair will discuss Bibas beginnings as a mail-order company, selling affordable fashion appealing to a new generation of young women, to the iconic fashion phenomenon it became. Hear how Barbara developed Biba into the world’s first lifestyle label, sparking a revolution in how people shopped and how Biba earned its spot as the brand that epitomises 1960s and 1970s fashion.

Learn about the fantastic archival pieces of clothing, original photographs, film, and material which feature in the exhibition, all of which have been personally chosen by Barbara Hulanicki. Hear about the process of curating this seminal show and the birth of an iconic brand whose influence endures to this day.

The event starts at 14:30pm in the Fashion Studio and lasts for approximately 80 minutes, including an opportunity to ask questions. Exhibition entry is included with your ticket and visitors are welcome to view the exhibition before or after the talk.
