Join staff and volunteers from the Royal School of Needlework for a fun, free, drop-in embroidery activity during school holidays.

Families will have the opportunity to have a go at some hand stitching while visiting the current exhibition, 150 Years of the Royal School of Needlework: Crown to Catwalk. Experiment and learn some basic stitches as you decorate a printed design, all under the expert guidance of the RSN.

All materials will be provided, and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. To take part, simply book tickets to see the exhibition on any of the dates and times below.

The Fashion and Textile Museum operates in line with all government guidance in relation to COVID-19. We regularly review our procedures and practices in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our visitors and staff. For more information, see our visiting guidance.

  • If you or anyone that you have recently been in contact with is displaying symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend your workshop. If you are unable to attend your workshop for reasons related to COVID-19, please get in touch and we will be happy to reschedule your ticket(s).
  • During the workshop, we strongly encourage that you wear your face covering when you are not at your workstation and when you are conversing with the tutor.
  • Hand sanitiser stations are in place throughout the Museum. Please use them as directed throughout your workshop, including when entering and exiting the space.
  • Gloves will be available for use throughout your workshop.
  • Additional cleaning of our galleries and toilets remains in place, as well as door handles, handrails, and other key areas, including our workshops spaces.
  • All Museum staff, including our workshop tutors, have received thorough training in the above new measures and are committed to following them diligently.
