Spend a day learning how to hand paint on fabric, under the guidance and expertise of acclaimed textile designer Sarah Campbell.
Sarah will be sharing the techniques she has both learned and invented over a career that spans over 50 years. Rather than following ridged rules, you will be presented with ideas, possibilities, examples, and the freedom to learn the rhythms of design and to embrace the happy accidents along the way.
No prior experience is necessary, Sarah will be helping participants to build confidence in mark-making and composition rather than focusing on drawing skills. If you love pattern and cloth and want to learn hand-painting techniques this is the workshop for you! All equipment will be provided including a selection of fabric paints, paper, fabric to practice on, a tote bag or fabric bunting and one fabric piece for the finished piece. Participants are advised to bring a bag to take their work home in. Entry to the current exhibition is also included

She designs fabric collections with US manufacturer Free Spirit and in the UK, her relationship with Museums & Galleries has opened new opportunities with a widely available range of stationery, cards, and gift-wraps, alongside her range of mobile phone cases produced by Stringberry.
